Math Curriculum Review Update
On Thursday, February 22, 2024, nine committee participants met in the Copper River School District Office Boardroom to conduct their third review of math materials. This review included two different math programs.
Each participant thoroughly examined the materials against the evaluation rubric with the previously established criteria. The fourth set of materials was evaluated in the morning session and the fifth set of materials was evaluated in the afternoon. Participants had much discussion within the group, but each participant completed his or her own rubric for the materials he or she evaluated. Additionally, the committee examined the online and print materials with great scrutiny in this process. The committee considered the teachers’, parents’, and students’ perspectives in all review aspects.
