The Copper River School District (CRSD) Migrant Education Program (MEP) is seeking a more diverse population of parent volunteers to serve on the local MEP Parent Advisory Committee (PAC). CRSD Migrant Education Program is currently accepting nominations and circulating invitations to all members of the community to attend our October 2, 2024 CRSD Migrant Education Program (MEP) Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) Meeting where elections of new officers will take place and roles and responsibilities defined. If you would like to nominate someone or be a candidate for one of these positions, please return this completed form to your child’s school by September 30, 2024 or contact Ashley Hicks-Martin at 907.822.8556 to request a nomination form. You may also choose to submit your information online at: https://forms.gle/x46qG9iyeZDL6cBe7 All nominees will be contacted by October 1, 2024 to confirm the nomination. If you have not heard from the MEP office by that date, please call Ashley Hicks-Martin no later than October 2, 2024 in order to be placed on the ballot.

It's High School Volleyball Season! First practice is on Wednesday, September 11th. There will be a mandatory parent meeting on Tuesday, September 17th at 5:30 in the GHS commons.

We are looking for coaches! We are in need of a Junior High wrestling coach and a boys basketball coach. We are also in need of a High School wrestling coach and a High School boys basketball coach. Call 907-822-5286 if you would like more information.

Glennallen PTO will be having a meeting on Thursday, September 5th at 3:20 PM in the GES library.

Save the date! Glennallen will be having picture day on Tuesday, October 1st. Information will be sent out later in September.

Kenny Lake School will have a Parent Information Night on Thursday, August 29th, from 6:00 to 7:00 PM. We will discuss the Title Programs, the Archery & Rifle program, and the Alaska Reads Act. Childcare will be provided, but toddlers need to be potty trained and able to handle toileting needs independently.

See the updated bus schedules. Please note there are two schedules, one for early release at 2:00 and one for regular release at 3:10. Also, please note that bus 4/5 and bus 6 will be picking students up 10 minutes earlier due to road construction.

Glennallen is having a back to school night! Come join us from 5-7pm on Wednesday, August 14th. This is a great opportunity to meet teachers, fill out paperwork and get help/ask any questions you may have. Chili dogs will be served.

The purpose of the Parent Advisory Council (PAC) is for Migrant Education Program staff in coordination with elected or selected parent committee members, and other interested parties to plan, implement and evaluate the local program to continue to provide quality services to migratory children. The voice of migratory parents is essential and required for all phases of the local program. Join us via zoom or in-person, meet your local parent committee and be a voice for our future leaders! The Kenny Lake School office is now open! If you need to enroll your student(s), stop by the office anytime between 9-3, Monday-Friday. The office will be closed on Thursday, August 15th. Please bring your child's birth certificate and vaccine records.

CRSD Indian Education Program partnered with Ahtna Tribes, Mount Sanford Tribal Consortium (MSTC), Ahtna, Inc., and CRNA to host a Student Recognition Banquet in Honor of the Late Dorothy Shinn. Last day of school is Thursday, May 23rd! Last day will be an early release at 2pm. Come join Glennallen Elementary for their awards ceremony at 8:45am. Middle/High School award ceremony will be at 10am.
