Kenny Lake School is celebrating Dr. Seuss' Day (Read Across America) on Friday, March 1. The community is invited to join us for Green Eggs and Ham from 11:30-12:15. After lunch, mystery guests will read their favorite books, so if you would like to read to the kids, please contact the school office.

This is a friendly reminder that Kenny Lake School will not be in session on Monday, February 25. This will NOT be a WIN day, so enjoy the three day weekend.

Glennallen Schools would like to take this opportunity to recognize our top 3 finishers in the Geography Bee that took place January 22nd. All students that participated, did a great job and gave their best effort. Special recognition goes out to the following students: 3rd Place (Lonnie Hand), 2nd Place (Keith Albert) and 1st Place (Bowen Korth). Again, the Glennallen Schools faculty and staff would like to thank all of the parents, volunteers, community members, and educational stakeholders that helped in making this event a huge success. Your dedication to helping our students reach their full potential is greatly appreciated.

The scores are in and our Slana Archery Team qualify to compete in the the 2019 NASP Western Nationals in Salt Lake City,UT on April 26th and 27th. As a Team they are in 2nd place in the 2019 Alaska State 3D tournament and in 3rd place in the 2019 Alaska State Bullseye Tournament. We also have some individual archers who made the top 10 in their divisions. In the Bullseye Tournament: Thomas Abraham, Star Martinez, Avery Hart, Tracey Abraham, Benton Clary, and Lilly Tilden made it. In the 3D tournament: Thomas Abraham, Venessa Murphy Clary, Tyler Emerson, Tracey Abraham, Avery Hart, Eddie Payan, Josie Bueachamp, Benton Clary, and Lilly Tilden made it. Congratulations to all the Archers!! We are proud of all of you!

Glennallen Schools: StuCo Petitions Open - Tuesday, April 9 - students need the signatures of 20 eligible voters (students grades 6-11) - students grades 8 - 11 may run for office - once the petition is turned in, campaigning may begin - pick up petitions from Mrs. Lorence, and turn it in there when completed StuCo Petitions Close - Tuesday, April 23 - closes at 3:15 pm StuCo Speeches Due - Tuesday, April 30 - turn in to Mrs. Lorence StuCo Elections - Tuesday, May 7 - election speeches will take place in the auditorium during HS Plus Period - grades 6 - 11 should be present - ballots will close at 2:45 pm

Congratulations to Mr. Van Wyhe for being selected for the Tech. Support Award of the Year! We are so grateful and appreciative of Mr. Van Wyhe's dedication and many hours of service to the CRSD! He is constantly finding new and innovative ways to the make the district great! Thank You Mr. Van Wyhe, this is an incredible honor and very well-deserved award!

Friendly Reminder that there’s no school Monday and Tuesday the 18th/19th of February for teacher In-Service days. Kenny Lake is having a WIN Day on Tuesday for designated students. Please contact your school’s front office if you have any questions.

Please join us in welcoming the Superintendent candidates on Tuesday, February 19 at 6:30pm in the Glennallen High School auditorium. The forum is open to the public. Written questions from the audience will be asked and each candidate will have an opportunity to respond.

The Kenny Lake Science Fair will be held on Thursday, Feb. 21 from 4:30-6:30 in the school gym. Students in grades K-12 will showcase their science projects. The KLSA will be selling lasagna dinners, $10 for adults and $5 for a child's plate. The community is invited to attend.

On Monday, Feb. 18 and Tuesday, Feb. 19, Kenny Lake School will NOT be in session, but there will be a WIN day on the 19th, so some students will be asked to attend. Parents will be notified if attendance is necessary for their student. Call the school office for more details.

Congratulations Slana Archers! They competed in 2 tournaments this weekend and we are proud of each one of them. Thank you Coach Ole Bates and Coach Lyle Bueachamp for everything you do! We will find out on February 22nd where each archer placed in both statewide tournaments.
